Who is a Visitor?
- A Visitor is a person who Cares about the well-being of older people.
- Is willing to share about one hour of their time each week.
Who is a Client?
A Client is a person who . . .
- Is aged 60 plus and would benefit from having a friend to chat with every week.
- Feels isolated and lonely.
- Is referred by a friend, relative, social worker, doctor or themselves.

Accredited Visiting Service
- The aim of AVS is to decrease the level of isolation and loneliness for older people living in our community.
- Our service introduces these older people to a trained caring volunteer who will visit them regularly.
Our Services are:

SERVICES of Shanti Niwas
Providing culturally appropriate community based support services for Seniors of Indian and South Asian origin such as:
► MILAAP- Positive Ageing Day programs for seniors and people with special needs, delivered Auckland wide by qualified staff & volunteers in safe and accessible venues.
► KHUSHI - Elder Abuse and Neglect Prevention and Response Services. Our Social Workers also provide basic counselling, advocacy and aged care information and assistance to seniors
► SNEH – Emergency Housing for seniors
► DOSTI – Visiting services for housebound seniors
Health and welfare promotion as well as interpreting and translation services are also available.
